Distressing gets me stressed

Ok thought I would make a card trying to be a bit more inky and messy but not to oconvinced at this point. Made this with a few of the stamps from my Dreamy Butterflies set
I would feel better if I had used a nice paper or had created a background that was well, less messy but hey ho, nothing ventured nothing gained. The butterly is lovely though.

Out of my comfort zone

Went to a workshop by Sheena Douglass yesterday. Had a great day and managed to meet up with the lovely Fi who is on my Design Team, she was also on the workshop. Poor Sheena was rather poorly but managed to carry on til the end. A total trouper and as mad as a box of frogs lol
On the workshop we used alcohol inks which I enjoyed using on tin etc. We made 3 cards too. I must admit they are very different to what I normally do and must admit I don't favour things too distressed as i feel they always look a bit messy but thought I would post them up here anyway. I don't think i will be adopting these tequniques for my crafting but did come away with loads of hints and tips of things that I will use, ie using the alcohol inks. I have a wee project I can do with my son lined up so that should be fun.

Card for neice

I made a card for my neice who was 14 yesterday. I used my New Got It Covered CD. Printed onto irridescent card, then made side stepper card. I printed out cutting sheet from the teen girls section of the CD, cut out and assembled the decoupage. I tore a piece of pink vellum and ran through the cuttlebug to emboss. I used the greeting tiles on the cutting sheet to decorate the card. I made a matching C5 envelope using one of the envelope templates on the cd I also made an atc envelope which I attached to the inside of the card to put a gift of money in. The envelopes were made from backing papers also on the CD.

Enjoy, not sure if I will keep uploading freebies as no-one seems to say thanks.
Having a huffy moment lol

One of my stamps

Finally got round to taking a picture of one of my bear stamps. I have been playing around with making stamps to get to grips with the logistics of it. I have made quite a few wee bears just to test out the process. Here is one of them stamped up also the backgound has been made using another stamp made to go with the bear in a set. I stamped the flower with versmark pad then used 2 colours of cosmic shimmer powders to colour. used some distressed inks to colour my mats. Stamped bear onto a linen card and sponged around the edges with distressed ink. Coloured using pro markers and added a few flowers as embelishements. The best wishes could have come out better but was using a new rather juicy pad. Also glazed over the greeting not sure if that was such a good idea. Anyway I think he/she is sooo cute.

Disk Update

Ok Ok this must be the dullest craft blog on the planet. The disk is going to be finished in the next day or so. Looking good even though I do say so myself. So when I have had a good old play there will be pictures, I promise. Also the Desgin Team will be getting let loose to do there thing on it, I can't wait to see their creations.
I am really excited as from the begining of June I will be giving my full attention to Crafty Catz so things will be coming faster and also I can spend all my time on rubber stamps, templates, disks etc. I also plan to get some blog challenges going with a little help from a few friends so an exiting time.
I had planned to have some stamps available by now but a supplier has been holding things up a bit waiting on stuff coming grrr but not to worry. It gave me longer to play around with the equipement. Oh I did have a really cute bear stamp done with and ice cream who when stamped and coloured was adorable, may post a picture later. He hasn't made it onto a card yet but he is so cute. I also had a few owl stamps made up when I was playing around as owls seem to be taking over the world just now lol that and cupcakes.
Anyway that's just a bit of an update. As for people asking about the Design Team I have published their names on the website.

I will add all the names on here and links to their blogs (for those who have them) later on today.
I did want to put pictures of them and a little bio but a few are very shy about photos.

Anyway enough of me babbling
Bye for now

March freebie

Oh I know, I know poor neglected blog. I have been so busy with the new disk and also decided that I am going to be doing rubber stamps too so that has been quite a lot of work but had a blast playing with different materials and playing with samples I made so keep your eyes open as on my website I will be bringing clear polymer rubber stamps, designed by me. These are top quality and not the easily torn acrylic stamps so they should last for years. I am very excited. Anyway enough of my waffling. There is a March freebie on my website here is a picture of a finished sample. I hope you enjoy.

Febuary Freebie

A new free download is available on the website www.craftycatz.co.uk. I have tried to do a kind of love theme but could also be used for mothers day or anyone partial to a flower. Designed it so you can layer them up, gradually getting smaller for dimension and giving a snip between the leaves to separate for a stunning effect or you can use the flowers individually.
There is a matching inset and backing paper too.
